135 Flight Crew Scheduler

Job Description
Creates, modifies and archives Part 135 flight crew schedules according to crew availability, mechanical requirements, weather, customs requests and government regulations. This position also advises the appropriate personnel of potential delays or cancellations.
Given times, route and aircraft requirements, this position prepares and maintains flight crew schedules.
Coordinates with Pilots, Flight Managers and Operations regarding current and future schedules.
Makes preparations for pilot payroll for Domestic and Caribbean flight personnel on a weekly basis.
Coordinates with SJU management on Puerto Rico pilot payroll.
Posts pilot notes for daily and weekly schedules and schedule changes.
Notifies pilots of changes via email, phone, etc.
Maintains historical archive of schedules.
Advises, assists, and plans travel to coordinate with pilot schedules and recurrent training.
Assists in the coordination and booking of air, hotel and car accommodations for Flight and Maintenance departments and verification and approval of hotel invoices, as needed.
Verifies travel weekly with Travel Coordinator for upcoming schedules.
Assists with input of pilot travel into expense report system as needed.
Coordinates and notifies FAA of upcoming Training Events.
Assists with Expense Report approval.
Manages communication and documentation of 135 pilot vacation bids and approval.
Maintains 135 Pilot PTO and Vacation log.
Oversees daily workload within flight administrative function to ensure smooth operation.
Coordinates and assists in scheduling of 135 initial and recurrent training.
Perform duties and responsibilities of 121 Flight Crew Scheduler in their absence.
Serves as a back up to all duties of Travel Coordinator.
Assists the Chief Pilots and Assistant Chief Pilots with day to day duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
College degree preferred; FAA Certified Dispatcher preferred.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the aviation field.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
Knowledge of aircraft dispatch principles and aircraft trip planning principles, including knowledge of FAA regulations, airport information, resources available for trip planning, aircraft and trip support, and weather monitoring; general knowledge of geography and how it relates to aviation and flight planning.
Provide administrative support for the department. Keep all paper and electronic files in a neat and orderly manner. Process invoices for payment approval by the Director of Aviation.
They must also be diplomatic when it comes to making decisions concerning which crew members take which shift.
Ability to analyze complex situations, problem solve, collaborate with others and precise time management.
Work typically performed in an office environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
